Suuns are a Montreal band with a sound of their own. They easily transition from rock to electronic and back. The dark aesthetic incorporates spectacularly produced, dance-able bass lines that lead the band into high intensity grooves. These grooves are sometimes contrasted by open guitar sections where the singer contrasts his teeth-clenching snarl with clean vocal singing. The whole piece has a dramatic weight to it reminiscent of Chelsea Wolfe’s Abyss. It’s unique take on some punk elements I thoroughly enjoyed the whole album and I anticipate writing a review of it in the near future (once finals are over).
